No kidding, Pam!  I don't even go out for lunch anymore if I have to drive somewhere unless I absolutely have to just cuz I don't want to waste gas!  I can remember - in 1999, when my Mom was terminal and I was driving between Seneca Falls and Albany (3 hours 1 way) gas was 89 cents a gallon!!!!!!  That was only short 9 years ago!!

Hubby and I went on a motorcycle trip to New Mexico in May 2003, and I remember being shocked at the gas prices out in West Texas....$1.69 a gallon for premium! I would LOVE to pay $1.69 again.

The summer before I got my license gas was 89 cents a gallon, and that would have been 6 years ago.

Wonder if the price has to do with the supply going now to China. We wanted cheap goods ...so companies moved the jobs there and they produced their low quality goods and we bought them. Now they have the money and we are going to pay for it in gas and higher prices on everything else!! Sounds like a double edge sword!! I wonder where it will end!!!

What is sad about all of this is that the gas companies, have said over and over each month they made over 300% pure profit or more, hum anyone else think that there is a small problem with this part of things??

Hmmm....maybe the joke would have been funnier if I'd left the word as "fart" instead of changing it to toot.     Maybe it just hurts to much to laugh about it yet.

$3.79 in Central AL today

I remember when gas was .59 cents/gal, 1/2 gal of milk was .25 cents & a loaf of bread was .10 cents.... YES, I'm old LOL l

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

This should tell you how old I am. I remember when gas was cheap, the attendant pumped it for you, cleaned your front and back windshields, checked the air level of your tires, and check your oil level too! Plus, you got a free Dallas Cowboys glass or some other giveaway and S&H Green Stamps too!
