Randy and I went out for an early supper tonight. Upon our return, I went down to adjust the dock and I heard this huge flapping of wings and an odd bird call -- definitely not a Great Blue Heron. I looked across the cove we are on and saw some huge bird in a tree and some small tan animal below. Couldn't make out the animal, but thought the bird was a turkey. Came up and got the binoculars and camera and yes, it was a very large male wild turkey. Below are some photos.
While at it, I took a nice spring shot of the lake with a redbud blooming and a photo of the bank swallows that nest in an opening under our dock every year.
So, I guess you could say I had a "Wild Turkey" Saturday evening! |
