One week until the Jamboree, are we ready!!??

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

Well, as I do before any major trip, I've started my "pile" of things in the guest bedroom I don't want to forget to take along.  I WILL be ready by the 24th when we leap off.  Getting so excited now.  My only question is will it all fit into my minivan and still leave enough room for us and the dogs?

I have the soft sided crate, travel bowls, bottled water & Spanky's bag complete with an extra collar, leashes, vet record, etc.already in my Explorer. The rest of the stuff is piled also in a room My camera is ready to go with fresh new batteries & an extra memory card now, all I have to do is figure out what I'm bringing to wear LOL

I've got my piles going too. It's hard because I'm combining a "work" trip with a "pleasure" trip so I need three days of fancy work clothes as well as three days of FUN, FUN, FUN, clothes. Can't wait!!!!!!

Actually, Jen, a semi might not be enough room.  Those dogs are just going to have to pack lighter!

I won't be there but I might be sending my foster dog, Danica, along to meet a potential adopter there!   So if she hitches a ride to Jamboree y'all have to stop and pet her!

I still have cleaned up my pile from Atlanta -- so my duffle bags, suitcases are still out from that trip.  Guess I'll just repack.  I'm starting a pile of things for KS and Dixie.  I hope there's room in the Exploere for us!  If Randy decides he's not up to the trip, I'll come in my F-150.  So, no use packing any vehicle until I know what he's going to do.

LOL, I took Amos' crate out to see how I was gonna be able to fit it in the small SUV I have.(Ford Escape) It will only fit if we put the back seat down. I considered buying a smaller crate for travel, but I figured I'll just use the one he's used to and save that money for GAS! Got updated vet records. My daughter won't say for sure weather she is going or not but Smoosh is up to date on his shots IF she decides to go. Can't really start packing until I know if my daughter is going or not. I am NOT taking ANYTHING fancy, just jeans and T's. Much easier to wash the dog hair out of. AND I PLAN on having alot of different doggies hair on me!

Me, too, Kim. Just jeans and tees. I think everyone expects to be covered in a layer of doggie hair the entire time. It is an RT event, after all. LOL

I've got a pile started too, of course I'll end up forgetting something. Went today and got my car a oil change so it's ready. I can't wait to meet everyone. Dillon who's almost 13 (May 2nd) is coming with me so he's hoping there'll be some kids his age to hang out with. I told him I think Jolenes son is coming. He'll have plenty of dogs to play with too.

Just think -- this time next week we'll all be exhausted, our pups will be exhausted, we will have talked all there is to talk about Ratties (well, that may not be possible) and we'll be thinking ahead to next year's Jamboree!

Well, I'm packed.  Car's not loaded up yet, but pretty much everything is ready to throw in.  The girls' "stuff" is in their suitcase, too.  Got my checklist on the kitchen counter to be sure I don't forget the X-pen (out in the back yard) or the girls!    I'm so excited.  Haven't really been out of Texas in a VERY LONG TIME!  And brother do I NEED a vacation.

Remember to bring your umbrella and rain gear.  That usually works to keep the rain at bay.
