Buddy my 5 month old rat terrier, and he is running around and going upstairs without anybody with him. I am a first time owner for this kind of breed and it is hard because he doesn't listen to me. I tried to tell him nooo, going upstair and he dont listen. Is it because he is so young or is because this is his new home?

Buddy is a sweet pup but he dont listen to what i say or tell him to do. I know i treat him like a human being but puppies need to listen to their owners. I have been doing my best on being the best owner but Buddy dont listen.

On potty training he dont do the best on that either, any situations!!!~buddy's mom

Dink and I went thru training classes so it could teach me how to train him.  Giving him a treat after every potty outside and every command will click...you just have to be patient and consistent.  Have lots of toys and rawhides or bully sticks to keep him occupied.  Praise him alot and everytime Dink does something he shouldn't I make that  "ACK!" sound and he stops (so I can take my son's sock away from him for instance)

Puppies don't come knowing all the commands and what you expect and want from them.  They have to be trained.  Puppy classes are a good idea!
