T-SHIRT (HUMAN) AND BANDANA (DOGGIE) DESIGN CONTEST

We are in the process of taking orders for our rat-terrier.com human t-shirt and doggie bandanas and we need some designs from which to choose.

Guidelines:  Please read carefully!

1.    T-shirt will be a light gray color.

2.    Lettering may be any color (note this is a correction from initial post).

3.    This will be a two-sided t-shirt, with the design on back and rat-terrier.com (and perhaps a small coordinating logo) on the left front side of the t-shirt.

4.    Design may be artwork, graphics or a slogan, poem or some other written phrase.  It must include rat-terrier.com on the back design also.   Artwork and graphics may be colored, lettering may be any color.  It should be a general design – not Jamboree related.

5.    For the doggie bandanas:  These will be ordinary sized plain red bandanas, but we will place the logo so they can be folded to fit our smaller dogs. (And will still work for our larger dogs.)  Design for the logo will need to be like (or similar to) the front t-shirt logo.  (Example - perhaps red lettering on gray shirt and gray lettering on red bandana)

6.  Design should be in jpg form --- no need to separate colors.

7.    You may submit as many entries as you like.

8.    You may work with one another to create an entry(entries).  Perhaps you have an idea and another member has the artistic skill – pool your resources to come up with the best design possible.

9.   For this contest we will not be voting.  Because Lance needs to be involved in the final decision (it is his site, after all), we will have a panel of judges.  However, you are all free to let us know the design you like!  Your input will be appreciated. 

DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 25th!  (And yes, that is the REAL DEADLINE)

Jan does the artwork need to be in a special format ... ie: PDF, TIFF, JPEG, EPS etc? I know that some printers require it to be a particular format??

Thanks Kimberly. I'm a Graphic Designer so I have to ask that question all the time. One other question ... If the logo is several colors, does the printer want it color separated (each color on a different page) ... That's how I have to prepare artwork that is color for traditional presses. Thanks so much!

Doreen, I don't think so, but Kimberly can double check that.  (I was in the advertising business for a few years -- and I put that "real deadline" for you -- I don't know if y'all do that, but we'd always ask the magazine -- what's the deadline, okay, what's the real deadline.   )

I have a t shirt with Abby's pic on it that says "If it ain't a rat terrier, it's just a dog!"  Which I think is a cute saying...

I just checked with the printer and he has a 4 color processor so the colors do not have to be sepertated

I am really excited to go this, but I really don't know how to create one. I drew out a shirt and bandanna on a plain while sheet of paper, but that is all I have done. I don't know if I should just take a pic. of it, or what?

Do you have a scanner or know anyone who does. 

OH YES, there are LOTS of designs entered already!!!  Go to the top of this page and click where it says "Click Here To Post Designs"----they are all fantastic, but I have a favorite or two.
