Here is Otis, still looking for the moles. Hasn't gotten one yet this year. Had one last year, but didn't see him get it.

They are so determined! Amazing how fast those little paws move dirt. Smokey does that. Here in Rhode Island, we are overloaded with chipmunks. Rhode Island also is rock country. any hole you dig you hit big rocks. I have seen Smokey pull rocks at least his own weight out of the ground while going after the chipmunks!

Same thing here in Central Texas, only it's a limestone plateau we're sitting on.  My girls aren't really diggers tho.  I'm the one who always hits the rocks with every hole I dig (to plant something).  Our fence builders cursed every post hole they had to dig!
