Amos is the worst dog that I have ever had as far as getting into EVERYTHING!

He knows that he is not allowed unsupervised access to any of the bedrooms, so if he happens to catch a door open, he scoots in, grabs the first thing he can get his mouth on and high tails it to the living room to destroy his "treasure".  Generally, this "treasure" could be anything but mostly someones bedroom slipper or any article of clothing that may have been left on the floor.

My SonInLaw has a pair of GA Bulldog slippers.  Amos has grabbed those slippers so many times that they aren't much good anymore.  And he KNOWS he's not supposed to do it, so he runs from you and you will just about break your neck trying to retrieve them.

He will also slip into my shower and grab the razors.  I don't know how he's kept from cutting his own tongue out, because he does a job on those razors in the few minutes that he has them before I can chase him down.

Aluminum soda cans don't last a minute!  He will chew them to pieces and he gets them so quick that I'm surprised that I've not had to take him to the vet to have metal removed.  What am I gonna do with this CRAZY Dog!

I have no advise, but wish you luck on breaking her habit. How old is Amos. Any chance he will grow out of it?

For a minute I thought you were talking about my sweet Julia!!!hehehehe Sounds just like her! Too funny~ Caeasar use to be just like that...but it seemed like when he turned 2 yrs. old (this past Jan.) he grew up!! No more chewing on everything...furniture, shoes...etc. So I guess I'll have to wait one more year for Julia to have free roam of the house like Caesar. Caesar even earned his way out of his crate at night and can sleep with us, or the kids in our bedrooms!!! Yay for Caesar!!!

Oh thank goodness, there is hope!  Amos is only 8 months old, so just MAYBE if he lives that long, when he gets to be 2 years old, he will grow up and act right.  Thanks!

Hendryx is also a stealth grabber. We did teach him that furniture chewing is a big no no at an early age. He has also learned that once in a while something will bite back.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

Nibbler does this like crawl on his belly and look around while walking in a zig zag pattern. You look at him and all you can think of is the Mission Impossible theme.
We call that his 007 move.

Awl... Im so glad that Zoey grew out of that after she was about a year old. Man, I remember coming home to a destroyed apartment 5 days a week. I dont miss that at all!

Button was very bad about the "Snatch 'n Run" and "Destroy it" games.  But she outgrew them pretty much by age two.  Then we did major remodeling last June and she won't jump up on the wheeled desk chair anymore because it really moves on the new hardwood floors!  Yeaaaaah!

You see, she used to be real bad about getting up on the desk chair if it wasn't pushed in, and took things off the desk, especially ballpoint pens!  One time she got up there and grabbed a HUGE 5-digit inheritance check that we had not yet taken to the bank !  My heart just stopped!  Luckily she responded to my "Drop It" command (which she was still unreliable on).

Fortunately, my rescue Zipper never snatches, chews on or destroys anything!  What a sweet little dog she has been.
