They announced the competitors for the next season of Dancing with the Stars. I only know the old people among the contestants. They are:
• Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, aka Mel B: The once and future Spice Girl rose to fame in the late 90's as part of Victoria Beckham's posh posse in the mega-successful girl group, which is reuniting and hitting the road for a highly-anticipated monthlong tour this December. The 32-year-old more recently rose to infamy as the publicly challenged—and later vindicated—baby mama of Eddie Murphy's child. She teams with professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
• Jennie Garth: The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star is following in the footsteps of strong season four contender and fellow 90210 alum Ian Ziering. The 35-year-old most recently starred for four seasons as Valerie Tyler on What I Like About You. She teams with professional partner Derek Hough, the older brother of last season's pro champ, Juliana.
• Wayne Newton: The 65-year-old Las Vegas icon has performed more live shows from his Sin City home base than any other performer in the metropolis' history, has maintained a more than four-decades-long career and made enduringly classic hits out of "Danke Schoen," "Summer Wind" and "I'll Be With You In Apple Blossom Time." He pairs with Cheryl Burke.
• Mark Cuban: The outspoken Dallas Mavericks owner and HDNet founder is no stranger to reality TV. He starred on the short-lived ABC show The Benefactor, in which the 48-year-old gave away $1 million of his own money. The 49-year-old is currently ranked number 407 on Forbes' list of the world's richest people, with a personal fortune of $2.3 billion. He pairs with Dancing pro alum Kym Johnson.
• Josie Maran: The Sports Illustrated model has also graced the cover of Glamour magazine and starred in countless makeup and clothing campaigns, including high profile gigs with Maybelline and Guess. The 29-year-old famous face is debuting her own line of makeup this fall and is partnered with the equally aesthetically-pleasing season one professional champ, Alec Mazo.
• Sabrina Bryan: One of the stars of Disney's megahit Cheetah Girls, the 22-year-old Bryan has appeared as one of the members of the fictional all-girl song-and-dance troupe since 2003, starring in the hit movie and TV show, singing on the group's two chart-topping albums and touring the U.S. Bryan will be paired with Dancing With the Stars newcomer pro Mark Ballas.
• Marie Osmond: A little bit country, a little bit rock 'n roll, a little bit of a dancer, hopefully. Donny's famous sibling has had countless successes as a variety show cohost, along with her equally poe-faced brother, an author and her own line of dolls. The 47-year-old teams up with pro Jonathan Roberts, who is back for the fourth straight season.
• Jane Seymour: The former Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star has appeared in more than her fair share of TV and movie roles, and more recently has become an author, housewares designer, under an eponymous line, and an active advocate for helping underprivileged and abused children. The 56-year-old actress sashays into the season with four-time returning pro Tony Dovolani.
• Helio Castroneves: The 32-year-old Brazil native is a two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, logging an impressive 49 top five finished throughout his IndyCar career. One of the season's two requisite athletes pairs with reigning Dancing With the Stars pro champ Juliana Hough.
• Floyd Mayweather: The 30-year-old athlete is a six-time world champion and the reigning World Boxing Champion of the World, with an undefeated record in the sport of 38-0. He teams up with three-time show pro Karina Smirnoff.
• Cameron Mathison: The All My Children star has caused untold amounts of swooning in the daytime world, starring as Ryan Lavery on the ever-popular soap since 1989. The 38-year-old's already honed his reality TV chops as host of SoapNet's I Want To Be A Soapstar. He pairs with Edyta Sliwinska, the only pro dancer to appear on all five seasons of the show.
• Albert Reed: The 22-year-old male model, best known for his campaign with Abercrombie & Fitch, also counts actor, musician and artist among his genetically-blessed talents. He partners up with pro Anna Trebunskaya for the season. |

It starts back on Monday, September 24! I can't wait to see who is good and who is awful. I know I would be awful if I tried to dance. |

Helio Castroneves will be GREAT---I see him in the Indy car races, and he was on a local news channel here awhile back saying how much he is looking forward to the Dancing W/ the Stars thing.
And Jane Seymour gets my vote if all she does is stand still! She's beautiful!!!
I agree about Wayne Newton and Marie Osmond-----that can't be pretty to see Wayne dance. |

The kid who sang "Danka schoen" on Ed Sullivan many, many years ago was Wayne Newton. This guy has the same plastic surgeon as Kenny Rogers....and his face has been pulled up so many times his legs couldn't possible work! |

| Mark Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks owner, has a big mouth. I think most of Dallas will be rooting against him instead of for him. I feel sorry for Cheryl and Kym. It's great that Julianna's brother is joining the cast. |

| Right! And Samantha Harris, the co-host, had a baby girl yesterday. I wonder who will take her place or if Tom Bergeron will host by himself. |

Sabrina Bryan was SO much fun to watch..she's just adorable. Jane Seymour I thought did great....she's so beautiful and classy. Poor Josie Moran...she needs to stick to modeling. Excited to watch the guys tonight...Wayne Newton is so knocked kneed that it should be fun watching make a fool of himself. And Cameron Mathison is really nice to look at...could care less if he can dance or not. |

Sabrina might just win this thing if she keeps dancing so well. Plus, she probably has a lot of teen fans who will text a lot of votes. I liked Jane Seymour most of all the women because she was so classy and elegant, plus I like her partner Tony.
The dance that Max and Mel B did was the exact same dance he did last year with Leila Ali! I guess he can recycle routines if he wants to. When I saw Marie Osmond's dress, I thought "oh no, we'll be able to see her legs!" And Josie Maran is another model who is awkward and uncoordinated, like Paulina last year. It's probably their long thin legs.
It will be interesting to watch the men tonight. Cameron tripped going down the stairs last night during the introductions! Everyone kept saying how Floyd is the biggest threat, so I'm anxious to see if he is a graceful athlete or not. Wayne Newton is a pretty good tap dancer, or was in his younger days, so he might be light on his feet like John Ratzenberger was last year.

| Poor Wayne Newton! I think some of the Botox in his face has affected his legs too. He walked through his dance. Cameron Mathison was very stiff and Edyta had a wardrobe malfunction. Helio and Julianne were the best couple, in my opinion. Tonight is the elimination show. I'm betting Josie is gone. |

Wayne looked like a huge version of Beaver Cleaver. The skin on his face was drawn so tight that he had a perpetual smile---He looked pathetic! And he didnt dance any better than he looked, either. Helio was the best last night by far.

| I missed what Cheryl said back stage after her dance with Newton. All I saw was she got a really good laugh. But had the sound down at the time. Was it naughty? Poor thing, I gotta give her credit, she keeps smiling and dancing with the guy who smiles and walk dances. |

And Wayne's eyes are tiny! But he was very courtly and presented a big bunch of roses to Cheryl at their first meeting. Floyd danced the cha cha in a boxer's stance the whole time. It looked more like he was chasing Karina and trying to hit her than dancing with her. But why didn't the judges tell him to stand up straight like they did with Apolo last year? In general, I think the judges were nicer to the men than they were to the ladies. |

Drew asked her how she liked having Wayne as her partner or something like that. She said he was her best partner so far, which made everyone laugh because Drew was her partner a couple of years ago.

| Ok, i'm a very LOYAL fan of the show. Have never missed an episode since the beginning, even saw them on tour over the winter. In my opinion, Josie was not good and neither was Wayne. I actually wasn't a fan of Sabrina. She showed us that she could dance, but as a Cheetah girl, we already knew that. She needs to start following the dances she's supposed to be doing. I thought Helio, Jane, and Cameron were all very good for the first week. Also, I think the judges were far too together this season than they used to be. It's like they don't want to show a difference of opinion all of a sudden. |

| Oh, I should mention that I've been a dancer for 13 years, so some things like Sabrina getting praised for not really doing a cha cha kind of upset me. What really upsets me though, is that 2 of the three judges (Keri Ann and Bruno) have no ballroom background. Keri Ann was in an Austin Powers movie, and is a choreographer for popular artists, and Bruno is a choreographer for i think movies and musicians. |
