and puts goodies in them! If you haven't tried this you should, if for no other reason than to amuse yourself and dear rattie. They LOVE rooting their noses around inside as they find the treat! Shiloh has gotten so good at this game that it can be anything.. a crouton, a simple bite of kibble... I'll stick them way down in the toy, or in an arm or leg of the toy and she'll work at it until she finds her prize! It's something to do with the destuffed toys everywhere! |

Our local Petco sells these silly stuffed 'dog' toys that look like a pastel 'wiener dog' with a squeak in them. They're even featured in cute Petco commercials ... so of course we bought Minerva one ... it took her less than two minutes to 'destroy' said toy!!!
The other day I'm in Petco and I see the same famous toy with a tag that says, 'More Durable, Lasts Twice As Long' and I'm thinking "Oh goodie FOUR MINUTES!!!!"
bring it on ...

That's a really good idea as I already have a destuffy of Annabelles.
At 1st I was like "What is she doing?"
The dog we used to have was a spaniel and she certainley never did anything similar to her toys!
Annabelles likes to pull out the seems, and things like the sewn eyes(That was the 1st thing to go on her little pink "weiner dog" from Petsmart!)
Then goes stuffing all over the floor.

Another sure thing that I have a rattie! (I just adopted Sophia in the past week and was on here to decide if she's a rattie or a jack russell and it was generally concurred she's 100% rattie) My dog Molly died four years ago, and two years later our dog Zack died as well (old age). Radar, my parent's dog, doesn't like toys. So we have a whole bunch of old toys that no one has played with in years. Included was this stuffed bone with a squeaker that none of the dogs ever liked, but we got free at this dog fair thing we went to like five years ago. And Sophie liked it! So I was really happy about that... Only Sophia played with it for two days, and then destuffed it everywhere. That was the first "naughty" thing she had done (and really, that's not so bad-- after all it's HER toy). She doesn't actually like the rubber squeaky toys and has no interest in tennis balls, so her only toy right now is her "monkey baby". Which is one of those monkey stuffed animals with the really long arms with velco on them that make monkey noises when you pinch them? I bought it when I was a teenager, and recently came across it when I was cleaning out my room and gave it to her. She loves it! But I'm hoping she won't destuff it too soon because then I'll have to go buy her a new toy... or dig around the attic and see if I can find an old stuffed animal I don't care if she chews up... |

All we have are destuffed carcasses! The GSD won't stand for anything to be still stuffed for more than 30 minutes check out the destructo dog at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crXWlRwhpNM), then it becomes a pulltoy, which means that it's soon only fuzzy scraps. Luckily, Ripley took to this without complaint. We do have one of the super tuff, should-be-impossible-to-destroy toys (http://www.vipproducts.com/retail/files/index.php?cPath=27_33_37) for our GSD, which she wasn't able to tear apart. However, Rip managed to do the job just fine! ROFL |
