We just picked up our pup this morning. His name is Skooter. We give him shower and spray him with the flea control. We have 3 daughters and the two girls are getting crazy carrying him around. Skooter is kinda calm and not running. He just sit outside and sleep. And if we put him on his cage inside the house he just sleep there. Is there something wrong with him??? He is about 3 months old. Is he sad being away from his family? He dont go to the vet yet the lady told us. We got the papers. Where is the cheap vet in our area here in Long beach??? Any info is appreciated....thank you!

Welcome. It is pretty normal for a puppy to sleep most the time, especially on his first day home. It is very stressful day for them. Has the puppy had any vaccinations yet? By the time they are three months I think he should have had a few. It is very important that if your pup hasn't received any vaccinations yet that you get him to the vet just to make sure he doesn't get sick. Not sure of any vets in the long beach area.

Welcome to the site and hope to see pictures after your new one is settled.  Not from your area so I do not know any vets.

thanks guys for the reply, yeah he is kinda depressed away from his mom. Finally he poops today and we call him poop walker coz he is walking while he poops which is very funny...and he glides down to clean his butt....

Skooter dont have vaccination yet and pretty soon next week we will bring him to the vet.

The wiping of his bottom on the grass may be a sign that he has worms. This is completely normal and fairly expected of a puppy. Usually puppies get a deworming with their first rounds of vaccinations if it is necessary.

Lucy will also walk and poop at the same time like a horse if she is really excited, such as when we walk to the trail that is a couple blocks from our house.

Welcome to the site, Scooter. Hope you can post some pics of your new little puppy. We are retired teachers in Texas and have two ratties. Scooter is going to be a delightful addition to your family. You & your children are gonna fall in love with that little dog! Like everyone has said, get him to a vet for his first shots, health evaluation and worm check. Puppies are very much at risk of DEADLY diseases without their vaccines.
